Marlene G. Lohman 77, of Hall Street, Bedford, died Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  She was born on May 16, 1940, in Windber, a daughter of the late Bill and Grace (McIntyre) Brough.  On February 26, 1961, in Cumberland, MD, she married James F. Lohman, who survives along with the following family: William J. Lohman, and wife Shari, of Shippensburg, four grandchildren: Amanda Lohman, Brittney Redmond, and husband Ben, Samantha, and Mallory Lohman; two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Kelson; and a brother, Jim Brough and wife Ada, of Fishertown.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Brough.

Marlene graduated from Adams Township High School.  She showed steers for Faulkland Farms at the Bedford Fairgrounds, and worked for the Dairy Dell, Maurice’s Department Store in Bedford, Bedford Courthouse, Hedstrom, Eleanor’s Dress Shop, RSVP Director, and Mary Kay and Avon Representative.  Marlene was also the tax collector for Bedford Borough, and while working at Walmart, she coordinated their involvement with the Children’s Miracle Network.  She loved traveling to Myrtle Beach every year from 1970 until 2003.  She also loved bowling, golfing, bible study, card club, camping, and canning spaghetti sauce.  Marlene was a no nonsense woman of honesty and integrity, who especially loved children.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennett officiating.  Burial at Woods Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
