DeeDee,
I didn't know your dad personally, just from hearing you talk about him and knowing all the things he and your mom did for the Bedford community. I know how close you were to him and how much you will miss his presence in your daily life. There's nobody like your daddy. I pray for comfort for you and your family.

Our deepest sympathy to the Blackburn family. We always enjoyed talking with Jack and listening to his wonderful stories. We will miss his visits and chats. He would stop to see us after visiting the cemetery and always kept us entertained.

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. My Dad (Moe) and Phyllis Strawn talked highly of him and did a lot of business with him. My dad passed four years ago. The pain of losing anyone is difficult. Today, I still cry, but smile more of all the memories I had with him.

Dee Dee, I am sorry to hear that Jack had passed away. It sounds that he went peacefully. He looked good the other week when we saw you folks at the Southern Swapfest in Florida. I've enjoyed visiting with Jack, both at our conventions and in Bedford these last few years. I was looking forward to seeing him at UES in June. He will be missed in our matchbox hobby. My best wishes to all of the family.

DeeDee and Family: When I got the call from you DeeDee all I could think of is what a great man he was. I would run into him and we would talk about his dear friends Bob and Betty from Las Vegas. I called them, Bob of course is very sad, Betty said that's one of Bob's last best friends..... I have heard many stories. You and your family were so lucky to have him for so long. I woke up this morning to the sad news of your father's passing. Then I fell back asleep for awhile and when I woke up, I thought I had dreamed that my dear friend, whom I have known for over 60 years, was gone. Jack just came to visit me a few days ago and I cherish the visits we have shared this past year. When Jan called to tell me the news about Jack, I was sad to know that it was not a dream after all. Jack was one year older than I am and will be sadly missed by me. When you get to be my age, most of your friends and family are no longer on this good earth and it can be very sad to find yourself more and more alone. So sorry for your loss. I will always remember your dad as a great man in every way person can achieve greatness.
