I practiced with Herb here in Brunswick County from 2000 to 2007. At that time, it was a tough job to come to this rural area and practice surgery. One had to have a sense of adventure just to take on the assignment. He took call usually every second or third night. He thrived because he had surgical skill as well as toughness and grit . Even more admirable was the gentle and kind demeanor he had toward his patients, even under the most stressful of circumstances. I was always comfortable calling Herb - he could handle it. Herb served on many committees here and held many staff positions, including Chief of Staff. He was instrumental in the shaping and building of this hospital into the strong facility it is today. Dear Denise and Family,
I had only recently learned of Herb's illness and was so saddened to learn of his passing. I like many other health care providers had worked with him in the OR during his years @ The Brunswick Hopspital.. He was a skillful surgeon and had such a kind gentle demeanor with staff and patients.He akways brought an element of calm to the operating room. I am glad that he is no longer in pain and he was fortunate to have you Denise as his caregiver during his last days. God's Grace and Peace to all as you journey thru this difficult time. I am so glad my path crossed with Herb's at First United Methodist in Bennettsville. He was such a faithful member, especially as a part of our choir. We have missed his gentle spirit. Please know I will continue to hold you close to my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I wish and pray for comfort for Herb's family and loved ones. My caring for Herb stems from years ago when we were classmates and friends at South Elementary and Bedford High School, Such a genuine, funny, brilliant and honorable person! I know heaven has reclaimed its own with his return. I am so grateful for knowing him and that he was able to share his talents and kindness with many through his work.

I was shocked to hear that Herb had passed away. I cleaned his house while he lived in Cheraw, SC. for 7 years. He was kind with a quiet soul who always offered his wisdom when asked for advice about many subjects. I considered him to be a good friend who will be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

I worked with Dr. Snyder at Chesterfield General Hospital. He was a very kind and compassionate person. I know that he is reaping his rewards in Heaven now. My condolences to his family. We have lost a great man, but Heaven has gained another angel.

I worked with Dr. Snyder in the OR at Chesterfield General and am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a very kind and patient surgeon who always treated the staff with respect.

Dr.Synder was a very kind and caring Doctor. I had the pleasure of being a patient of his.He was always professional and He made sure that his patients received the best quality of care.I am sending my condolences to his family , and I want you all to know that Heaven has gained a great Man. I was privileged to have Dr . Snyder as a renter when he lived Cheraw. He was a great renter. Always pleasant and agreeable and I know he will be greatly missed by his family.

It is with much shock and sadness to have read of Herb's passing. Denise, to you and your son I want to pass on our sincere sympathy. It has been many years since our paths have crossed not only on a friendship level but a professional level when Herb took care of my mother. What a wonderful man/doctor. I am so saddened by the news of the loss of Herb. Not only was he a kind and generous man but one of the few truly compassionate and caring physicians left in the medical field. He will be greatly missed for his kind words and calm demeanor. May his family find some peace in this loss and know he will always be a respected and loved man. I am greatly saddened by the news of Herb's passing. I have wonderful memories of our high school friendship and the many shared experiences especially in band and choir where we sat side by side for most of seven years. We shared phone conversation and the occasional dinner when our paths crossed over the years. It was always a great treat to be in his company. I will miss him dearly.

I want to offer my condolences to the Snyder family. It is a painful thing to lose a love one in death and it pains our creator who has promise to bring our love one back to life. Hosea 13:14 says “From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them” then "he will swallow up death forever …"(Isaiah 25:8). I hope these words give you comfort.
