Marina - I am so sorry for your loss. You and I have spoken many times, and I hope I made it clear what a wonderful role model your Mother was to me. It would seem obvious since I spent 30 years as a French teacher - almost entirely because of her influence in my life! She was always such a classy lady, and a warm and welcoming teacher in her classroom. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Carol's Family,
What a fabulous BPW member we had in your mother and grandmother! She was always ahead of her time in her passion for helping women and their families. There wasn't a task that was too difficult. She was always ready to help. She had the most gracious manner and shared her knowledge most willingly. I have know her for many BPW years and most recent, we sat next to each other on the lower dais as she was the BPW/PA Foundation Chair and I, the Individual Development Chair. We worked together. May you know that we all cherished her and will miss her dearly. May our many memories help us through this challenging time.
Best Personal Wishes,
Nancy "Sparkles" Werner, BPW/PA PSP 1995-1996

My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones on the passing of Mrs. Carol L. Bowman. She was my French teacher for two years at Bedford High School, several years before I went to Bolivia to be a Rotary Exchange student in 1970. I will never forget her expertise and manner in class, she being one of the best teachers I ever had. Today I remember her with great fondness and look back on her as a wonderful model of patience and wisdom, which I was able to carry with me as I learned harder Foreign languages and later became a Bilingual/ESL teacher (Spanish). Sincerely, Veronica

Dear Marina and Mark, Your mother was such a positive influence in my life. When my mother told me this morning that she had passed, I was initially shocked and saddened; but I quickly became awash in a sea of beautiful memories. An inspirational teacher, she helped to plant a love of history, language, and travel in my soul. She was a caring advisor to so many of us in Rainbow Girls; and I fondly remember the great times we had at Grand Assembly and Mrs. Turner's cabin. Her patience and elegant spirit will remain with me always. Please know that I will remember you and your family in my prayers.

I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Carole during my years at Bedford Springs, how I enjoyed visiting her in PBX and hearing her stories and of course enjoying the snacks that she so lovingly provided for all! What an inspiration she was for me personally she had accomplished so much but was so willing to give back. I am so proud to have known Ms Carole and had her in my life.
My condolences to both families - her own family and the Bedford Springs family who will miss her so much.
Rest well my friend. Juliet

I want to offer my condolences to the Bowman family. It is a painful thing to lose a love one in death; even Jesus, when Lazarus died, "gave way to tears"(John 11: 35). It pains our Creator, too, and he has promised to bring our love one back to life at Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will rise ...Awake and shout joyfully you residents in the dust! ...the earth will let those powerless in death come to life" then "he will swallow up death forever …"(Isaiah 25:8). I hope these words give you comfort.

To Carol's Family-
When I heard about Carol passing, I had to stop for a moment. You see, 'Mrs. Bowman' was a woman who influenced my life more than many. She has my teacher and advocate as I considered on Rotary Youth Exchange. Mrs Bowman was the one person who taught me the importance of learning a foreign language. Without her encouragement, I may not have gone on my exchange to Brazil. I had no idea how my life and career would change after learning a foreign language. But I think the best part of Mrs. Bowman and having her support me in my adolescence was that she was the first adult who wanted to listen to what I had to say. We ate many peanut butter meltaways together as we talked about Latin verbs, my social life and the idea of me living abroad.
She will always have a special place in my heart. She is an influence in my work, humanitarian service and my Rotary service.
With so much gratitude,
Terri Nicole

I worked with Miss Carol at the Bedford Springs, we were PBX operators together. We had a great relationship and much in common. Both graduates from Penn State and Realtors. She gave great advice and always listened. She was a beautiful woman and will be greatly missed. She brought more than just snacks to work everyday, she brought laughter and love. Never showed her age and did more for the community than many half her age. Rest easy miss Carol, this breaks my heart.
