Alonza "Bud" Ritchey

April 7, 1936 ~ September 30, 2016 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Alonza “Bud” Ritchey, 80, of Ott Town Road, Everett, died Friday, September 30, 2016.  He was born on April 7, 1936, in Bedford, and was the son of the late David Lloyd and Alvera Mae (Bequeath) Ritchey.  On December 27, 1959, he married Lillian Marcella (Smith) Ritchey in Everett and she survives him along with his two sons, David Todd Ritchey and wife Carol, of Bedford, and Troy Ritchey and wife Tonya, of Towanda.   He is also survived by two grandchildren: Christie, wife of Ryan Harris, and Adam Ritchey; three step-grandchildren: Sierra, Drayson, and Zachary; and one great step-granddaughter, Nevaeh.  His brother, Thomas L. Ritchey, and wife Linda, of Saxton, also survive him.

Bud was a faithful member of Bald Hill Lutheran Church and Yeager Lutheran Church.  His faith was strong and true, as was his commitment to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was an Army veteran and was stationed in Germany.  He worked at Howard Johnson’s for seven years before beginning his career at Kennametal, where he retired as Plant Superintendent after more than forty years of service.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping with his sons and grandchildren.  He was happiest when at the lake or hiking the mountain with his family and friends, and especially cherished this time spent with his sons.

His family will hold private funeral services with arrangements by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Bud’s name to: Love Inc, 80 State Street, Everett, PA 15537. Their online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
