William Michael Vreeland Sr., 80, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1940, in Orange, NJ, a son of the late William N. and Kathryn Dorothy (Erhardt) Vreeland. On March 22, 1982, in Charlotte, NC, he married Dianne (Clark) Vreeland who survives along with the following family: two sons, William “Mike" Vreeland Jr. and wife Juniata of Wilmington, DE; Kenneth Vreeland of Newark, DE; a step-daughter Annette C. Bohannan of Everett; two grandchildren Angel and Lucas; five step-grandchildren: Trish, Nicole, Cade, Cassieopeia, and Kale; sister-in-law, Erma Cogan and husband Joseph of Everett.
William was a Vietnam Veteran that served with the Navy and spent time on the nuclear submarines. He had a number of jobs in the plastic manufacturing. His first job was plant manager at Sewell in New Stanton, PA and his last job was in Nitro, WV. He enjoyed building derby cars with his sons while they were growing up, deep sea fishing, watching wrestling on television. He also spent a lot of time landscaping, doing yard work, and fixing things to make them better.
A graveside service will be at Bedford Cemetery on June 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Kisner officiating with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
