Verna Leader Obituary

Verna P. Leader 81, of Bedford, died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.  She was born on December 18, 1938 in Snake Spring Valley, a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Coughenour) Ritchey.  She is survived by three sons: Steven Ritchey, of Dillsburg, Gary Ritchey, of West Palm Beach, FL, and George Ritchey and wife Lisa, of Manns Choice; three daughters: Deb Barclay, of Manns Choice, Kathy Schrift and husband Gary of Alum Bank, and Donna Leader and fiancé John Wells, of Bedford; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Robert Ritchey and wife Rhonda, of Bedford; and three nephews.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Gwenda Sabo, and a great-grandson Andrew Frazier.

Verna was a member of the Bedford Church of the Nazarene.  She worked at the upper Landmark Restaurant, and then lower Landmark Restaurant, as well as Old Bedford Village.  Her family was everything to her, and looked forward to planning family reunions, parties, and holiday gatherings every year.  Verna loved to play games, cards, bingo, and enjoyed music and singing.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
