Vera J. Bowman

Vera J. Bowman, 90, of New Paris, died on Tuesday July 14, 2020, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on June 4, 1930, in Bicknell, IN.  She married Duane Bowman in 1951 in Bicknell, IN and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2001. She is survived by two sons: Marty Bowman and wife Debby of New Paris, and Scott Bowman and wife Shellie of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren:  Denise Duncan, Kelsi and Madi Bowman, Craig Press, Branden Davis, and Brandi Lehman; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters Beverly and Marsha Bowman; two granddaughters Michelle Nahay and Stephanie Scalla; and three sisters, Bonnie, Nancy, and Gloria. 

Vera was affiliated with the Faith Brethren Bible Church in New Paris. She worked at various places in Bedford including Dollar General, JcPenny, and Ed’s Steak House.  She also worked as a caregiver for many families in the area.  She volunteered at Bedford Hospital and with the Election Board.  Vera’s family meant everything to her.
