Thomas M. Mortimore 77, of Bedford died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on October 19, 1942 in Wolfsburg a son of the late James R. “Bob” and Helen R. (Clites) Mortimore. On October 29, 1976 he married Linda (Holler) Mortimore who survives along with a daughter, Amy Wartluft and husband Keith, of Manns Choice; twin grandsons: Colton and Tanner; a brother Harry Mortimore, and wife Mary, of Bedford; a brother Richard Mortimore and wife Sylvia, of Manns Choice, a sister Joyce Comp and husband James, of Centerville, a sister Donna Holler and husband Frank, of Buffalo Mills, a brother Jerry Mortimore, of Bedford, a brother John Mortimore and wife Sandra, of Bedford, and a sister Rita College and husband Randy, of Schellsburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Mortimore widow Wilma surviving, of Bedford; a sister Madeline Zimmers, and an infant brother, Lawrence Mortimore.
Thomas was a 1961 graduate of Bedford High School and then served in the US Army as a Military Policeman from 1964 until 1966. He then worked for Standard Register and JLG before retiring. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and served on the Consistory. Tom enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, hunting, and fishing. The family expresses their thanks to Donahoe Manor Nursing Home for the care he received for the last several years.
