Thomas M. Finch 88, of Everett, died Friday October 25, 2019 at Homewood at Martinsburg. He was born on May 17, 1931 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Murray C. and Doretta (Maudice) Finch. On May 7, 1960 in Pittsburgh he married his wife of 55 years, Theresa Finch, who survives along with a daughter, Lisa Keller and husband Frank, of Absecon, NJ; a grandson Nicholas; a sister Laverne Pokorski, of Pittsburgh, a sister-in-law Eileen Chesno, of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Laura Lloyd.
Thomas attended the University of Pittsburgh on a basketball scholarship before enlisting in the Air Force as an air traffic controller, being stationed in England. After his discharge he continued to work as an air traffic controller for over 30 years in Atlantic City, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion for over 60 years, loved to travel, and was an avid collector of glassware. Thomas was a kind, loving husband, and showed kindness to everyone he ever met. He was loved by his wife’s family and sister family. He loved and took care of many animals throughout the years, and had several good friends. Thomas will be dearly missed by his wife.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home. Entombment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
