Thomas F. Hershberger

Thomas F. Hershberger 87, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2022.  He was born on November 16, 1934 in Bedford a son of the late Francis “Bix” and Romaine (Kegg) Hershberger.  He married Darlene Shoemaker (Rice) Hershberger who preceded him in death on April 5, 2020. He is survived by a daughter Kathryn Swanger and husband Jerry, of Bedford; four grandchildren: Amy Swanger, Joseph Cocklin, Kristen Charron, and Janelle Stynchula; and seven great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Willow, Waylon, McKennah, Elijah, Anya, and Delilah.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Brendlinger, husband Darl surviving of Derry; and a sister Florence Jaffee, husband Bernie, surviving of Philadelphia. 

Tom served in the Army National Guard and retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime. He was a faithful member of the Bedford Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.  He was an avid hunter and woodworker making numerous furniture pieces.  Tom also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and landscaping.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, in Bedford, with Pastor Isaac Stuart officiating.  Burial at St. Pauls Reformed Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 1-3 p.m., at the Timothy A.
