Telford L. Pyle

Telford L. Pyle 88, of Bedford, died Monday, February 19, 2024 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home after suffering a stroke this past January.  He was born on January 2, 1936 in Bedford, a son of the late Clarence T. and Marion (Holderbaum) Pyle.  He is survived by a son Terry Pyle and wife Debra, and a daughter Patsy Hillegass, four grandchildren: two brothers: Joel Pyle widower of Norma, and Jeff Pyle widower of Linda; and special friend Sharon Smith and her dog Daisy.  He was preceded in death by a sister Gail Leppert, and many friends and family.

Telford had many dogs, Shep, Bubs, Jenny, and lastly Jack; he loved them all.  He was in FFA in high school and took many Ford Tech courses when he was young.  He raised chickens for eggs and grew sweet corn for the Bedford Springs Hotel early on.  After graduation he worked at the Ford Garage for his father. Following the passing of Clarence, he and his brothers started Pyle Brothers Garage at the red barn on the east end of town until his retirement. He was a good mechanic partial to Fords, but worked on all the “big three” autos and trucks.  He loved to hunt and fish in Pennsylvania and Canada, and had many friends there.  To his friends and family, here or gone, God Bless All!  Telford is now near camp up in northern Pennsylvania, in the woods he loved so.
