Steven Layton Obituary

Steven A. Layton 57, of Osterburg died on Monday, February 19, 2024 at his residence. He was born on January 23, 1967 in Bedford, a son of the late Harry and Melvie (Hillegass) Layton. On August 17, 2017 in Hollidaysburg, he married Jing (Ye) Layton who survives along with the following family: two daughters, Jessica L. Layton and Fiancé Tyler of Bedford; Amanda D. Smith and husband Bobbie Dunmeyer of New Paris, two step-sons, James H. Layton and wife Katherine of Sterling Heights, MI; and Angel H. Ye of Osterburg; 10 grandchildren: Brayden, Nevaeh, Nevanaeh, Nelyze, Joddan, Jaxxan, Ronan, Jaymazan, Neyhlani, and Jhettzan; two brothers: Dave Layton of Bedford and Harry Layton and wife Violet of Alum Bank; two sisters, Sylvia "Jean" Grubb of Everett and Patricia McDaniel of Claysburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel White and a brother, Glenn Layton.

Steve was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1986. He worked at various places that included the Landmark Restaurant, Creative Pultrusions, Koontz Milk Hauling, JLG, and HB Mellott. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a former member of the Bedford Moose Lodge and the Chestnut Ridge Bow and Gun Club.
