Shirley M. Irwin 79 of Bedford, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, May 25, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. The beauty of her music and unconditional love will truly be missed. She was born on April 16, 1941 in King a daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Harr) Bowser. On July 29, 1961 in Bedford, she married her soul mate James Irwin who survives along with their two sons: Daniel Irwin and wife Diane, of Texas, and Edward Irwin, of Bedford; three grandchildren: Taylor Stellan and husband Robert, Tyler Irwin, and Mason Irwin; three great-grandchildren: Colten, Sadie, and Isaiah Stellan; two sisters: Jean Benton widow of Dennis, of Schellsburg, and Judy Tullos widow of James, of LaPort, TX; three brothers: John Bowser and Betty, of Bedford, William Bowser and wife Sharon, of St. Clairsville, and Joe Bowser and wife Peggy, of Pleasantville; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Robert, and Gary Bowser, and two sisters: Donna McDannel, and Connie Logue.
Shirley was a graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and a member of St. John’s Christian Church, where she played piano and organ, and also occasionally sang. She loved her music and bringing great joy to everyone she met. Shirley regularly visited Donahoe Manor Nursing Home to play the piano and sing for the residents to help bring joy with her music.
Funeral services will be private. However in the future a memorial service will be held for all family members, friends, and loved ones. This date and time will be provided later.
