Sherwyn Pensyl 84, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home. She was born on November 10, 1936 in Bedford, a daughter of the late William and Minerva Helen (Cuppett) Amick. On June 8, 1952, in Bedford she married Daniel G. Pensyl who preceded her in death on August 5, 2017. She is survived by two daughters: Martha Plummer and husband Jim, of Ruckersville, VA, and Trina Golubosky and husband Lindsey, of Bedford; one son Sherman Pensyl, of Bedford; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Pamela Pensyl and Danette Thomas; and one son William Pensyl.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford. She worked as an LPN and was the first LPN hired at Bedford Hospital. Throughout the years as an LPN she worked for various Dr.’s offices and Schools. She enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, attending yard sales, playing cards and Bridge. She also enjoyed going to Florida in the winter and spending time at their cabin on the Potomac River. Sherwyn loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Brady Plummer and Pastor Vicki Cubbage officiating. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Monday from 10 - 12 at the Funeral Home.
