Ronald B. Smith, 77, of Bedford went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on December 2, 1942, in Warren, OH, a son of the late James B. and Neva E. (Beers) Smith- Butler. He is survived by the following family: three daughters, Lisa Braden and husband Mark of Lexington, IN, Tanisha Caudle and husband Gregory of Haughton, LA, Shannon Lee Bagstad and husband Rick of Las Vegas, NV; five sons, Timothy Smith and wife Donna of Las Vegas, NV, Wesley Smith of Bedford, Shannon Smith and wife Michelle of Eureka, NC, Timothy Gansen of Washington D.C., Sean Steinberg of Sparks, NV; two brothers, Frederick Smith and wife Monica of Pahrump, NV, Robert Butler and wife Vicky of Hollidaysburg; one sister, Catherine Skvarka and husband Michael of Bedford; a special friend, Donna Christopher of Everett; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Gansen; three brothers, George Smith widow Elaine Smith who survives of Carlisle, Jay Smith, and Melvin Butler; and a step-father, Leo Butler.

Ronald worked in Las Vegas, NV for over 30 years in the swimming pool business with his brother, Frederick and his son’s and nephews. Over the years his hobbies included hunting and fishing with his boys and one of his favorite hobbies was dancing with his special lady friend. Ron was a kind, caring, humorous and giving man who never knew a stranger. He was loved by all who knew him.
