Robert L. Diehl

Robert L. Diehl 72, of Shippensburg, died Monday, March 13, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on March 18, 1950 in Bedford a son of the late Harold C. and Mildred P. (Hyde) Diehl.  On February 14, 1975 in Belle Vernon he married Jody (Diehl) Diehl who survives along with four sons: Christopher Diehl and wife Kelly, of New Tripoli, Patrick Diehl and wife Julie, of Chambersburg, Jonathan Diehl, of Gettysburg, and Stephen Diehl and fiancée Verhonda, of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emily, Mason, Nolan, and Luca Diehl; and three brothers: Terry Diehl and wife Diane, of Belle Vernon, Larry Diehl and wife Judy, of Chester, VA, and J. Rodney Diehl and wife Susan, of Pittsburgh.

Robert was a 1968 graduate of Bedford High School and was on the wrestling team.  He then received his Bachelor’s degree in 1972 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and worked as a Plant Manager for Lane Enterprises.  Robert was a member of the Salem United Brethren Church, in Chambersburg and served as chairman of the board.  He enjoyed landscaping around his home, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held private.  Burial at Woods Church Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
