Richard Lee “Tater” Logue Sr 78, of Bedford, peacefully died Monday, January 20, 2020 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on September 27, 1941 in Rainsburg a son of the late William T. and Lena (Hook) Logue. He is survived by the following family: a daughter, Sheila Gadley and husband Eric, of Bedford, a son Richard L. Logue Jr. and wife Jennifer, of Point Harbor, NC, and a daughter Kris Cornell and husband Jeff, of Bedford; six grandchildren: Eric Gadley Jr. and wife Sarah, Rebecca Stickel and husband Caleb, Cody Cornell and wife Megan, Justin, and Josh Cornell, and Sarah Logue; six great-grandchildren: Isaac, Ethan, Jase, David, Jett, and Beau; two brothers: William Logue widower of Nancy, and George “Whimp” Logue and wife Cathy, both of Bedford; and three sisters: Nancy “Nan” Logue, of Gettysburg, Sandra Imler and husband Robert, and Paulette “Polly” Bagley widow of Jerry, both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a sister Josephine Howard, a brother John “Elvis” Logue, and his former wife Connie L. Bowser.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Kennametal. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #114, and the Fort Bedford VFW Post #7527. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Donahoe Manor for their excellent care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brian Swain officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
