Richard Deputy

Richard A. Deputy, 63, of Bedford, died on Friday, February 24, 2023 at UPMC Bedford Hospital. He was born on November 24, 1959 in Wilmington, DE a son of Edward A. and Ellen (Whitlock) Deputy Sr. of Bedford. Along with his parents he is survived by two sons: Josh Deputy and wife Chanda of New Paris; Matthew Deputy and wife Rebecca of Selinsgrove; a step-son Ryan Karns of Johnstown; five grandchildren:  Dominic, Kooper, Kohyn, Lennon, and Kyler; two sisters: Betty Jo Keiper widow of William of Saint Georges, DE; Judy Deputy-Foor and husband Scott of Everett; two brothers: Edward Deputy Jr.  and wife Catherine of Bedford; and Scott Deputy and wife Julia of Mechanicsburg. 

Rick graduated from Bedford High School in 1977 and owned and operated his own dairy farm in Friends Cove.  He was a supportive father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren whether it was showing state pedigree Holstein Cows or wrestling when they were in school.  He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Penn State Fan. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Jim Espenshade officiating.  Burial at Friends Cove UCC Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 9 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
