Raymond Kears Barry of Florence, SC, formerly of Bedford, passed away on August 1, 2020, just days after celebrating his 90th birthday. Ray was born on July 14, 1930, in Mays Landing, NJ a son of the late Andrew A. and Anna Millicent (Turner) Barry. On August 19, 1950 in Mays Landing, NJ he married Therese Marie (Greene) Barry. Ray and Therese were happily married for 63 years, living in Mays Landing, NJ before retiring to Bedford, PA in 1991. Ray served in the US Naval Reserve, and also the US Air Force, seeing duty at Tinker AFB in Ardmore, OK during the Korean War. Ray was an avid private pilot in civilian life.
Ray is survived by a daughter Melissa A. Carber, of Effingham, SC, a son Daniel A. Barry of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren: Christopher Howard and wife Crystal, of Minot, ND, Gregory Howard, of Round Rock, TX, Amy DeWitt and husband James, of Beverly Hills, FL, and Leanne Barry, of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren: Gracie and Ray Howard, and Patrick James DeWitt; and a niece Samantha Wilson, of Newtown Square, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister Janice Faulkner, of Titusville, FL.
