Pearl C. Shoemaker, 96, of Buffalo Mills, died on Friday, September 4, 2020 as a result of smoke inhalation from a house fire. She was born on December 21, 1923, in Bard, a daughter of the late Jacob H. and Annie L. (Corley) Holler. On December 1, 1945, in Cumberland, MD, she married William A. "Bill" Shoemaker who preceded her in death on July 19, 2014. She is survived by two sons, William E. "Bill" Shoemaker and wife Paulette of Manns Choice, Dale E. Shoemaker and wife NaDa of Buffalo Mills, one daughter, Gale Lindahl and husband Rick of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren: Rob Shoemaker and wife Karen of Ashville, NC, Angela Ripple and husband Tanner of Bedford, and Cary Shoemaker of Buffalo Mills; two great-grandchildren: Tommy Shoemaker and Elsly Ripple. She was preceded in death by one son Edward Shoemaker, two brothers: Arlo and Earl Holler, and one sister Pauline Foor.
Pearl was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ on Dryridge, She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a mother to all. She was also involved in the family maple syrup production.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milligans Cove Christian Church in Buffalo Mills, with Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. We are asking of those in attendance to observe the recommendations pertaining to a wearing mask and social distancing.
