Paul Lear Obituary

Paul C. Lear, 82, of Bedford, died on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on March 6, 1938, in Ore Hill, a son of the late John C. and Stella (Mock) Lear. On July 7, 1969, in Bedford, he married Shirley (Weaver) Lear who survives along with the following family: a daughter Mary Walter and husband H. Bruce Jr. of Osterburg; adopted-granddaughter Catie Shaffer of Osterburg; and a brother John H. Lear widower of Jane of Roaring Spring. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia C. Mock.

Paul worked for the Everett Area School District and retired after 26 years. Prior to that he worked at the Howard Johnson’s on Pa Turnpike north midway plaza and this is where he met his wife of 51 years. They celebrated their anniversary this month. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed his time at Donahoe Manor and participated in the activities there. The staff will always remember him for his smile.
