Patricia Smith Obituary

Patricia A. Smith 79, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on November 23, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA a daughter of the late John William and Ruth Elizabeth (Smith) Mallory. On May 19, 1962 in Deerbrooke, WI she married Robert Smith who survives along with a daughter, Deborah Lee (Smith) Bolton and husband Bernard of Bedford; one granddaughter Stephanie Smith and husband Brandon of Bedford, two sisters Susan Johnson of South Carolina and Kevin Mallory of Virginia; and a brother  John Mallory of Virginia.

Patricia was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford. She worked as a school teacher and taught at Bedford School District for over 20 years. She traveled all over the world, Ireland being her favorite trip, and was one of the first children from the US to return to Germany following WWII.  Patricia enjoyed reading, harassing her students, and teaching them every day. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Father Richard Tomkosky officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
