Owen Crist Obituary

Owen K. Crist 88, of Bedford died on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on April 8, 1933 in Pavia a son of the late John Homer and Clara (Dibert) Crist. On February 17, 1956 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Bedford he married Janet (Dishong) Crist who survives along with a son David K. Crist of Palmyra and a daughter Desiree K. Crist of Butler. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Kendall H. and John H. Crist and a sister Mildred Replogle.

Owen was on the wrestling team and played baritone in the band before graduating from Bedford High School in 1951. He served in the US Army and returned home to work for Kennametal. After Kennametal he was employed by Long Airdox and then went into Real Estate and consulting work. Owen served on the Bedford Borough Water Authority, and was a member of Bedford Lodge #320 F&AM, and Bedford Elks Lodge #1707. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, RV-ing, and being a caddie at the Bedford Springs as a young man.

Funeral service will be private. Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
