Norman Smith Obituary

Norman D. “Smitty” Smith 79, of Everett, died Monday, May 11, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on May 17, 1940 in Bedford a son of Lulu Jean (Smith) Nunamaker.  He is survived by the following family: a son Jeff Smith, of Everett, a son Jerry Smith widower of Michele Jo Foreman Smith, of Everett, a son Ken Smith and significant other Debra Hastings Cogan, of Everett, a daughter, Karen Diehl widow of David, of Warfordsburg, a daughter Jody Smith, of Mifflintown, and a son Mark Smith and significant other Kathy Jo Swartz, of New Paris; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; companion of several years, Anna Mae Swartz, of Homewood at Spring House; four sisters: Annabelle Smith, Barb May, Kathy Mearkle, and Janet Nunamaker; and three brothers: Larry, Garry, and Terry Nunamker.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica; and a sister, Phyllis Mitchell.

Smitty was in the US Army Reserves for 7 years, and then was a self-employed truck driver for over 40 years.  He enjoyed family gatherings, westerns, country music, hunting, and hanging out at the Kountry Kettle.
