Michael S. Telmanik Jr.

Michael S. Telmanik Jr. 76, of Bedford, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at home.  He was born on February 22, 1947, in Bedford, a son of the late Michael S. and Helen (Price) Telmanik Sr.  He is survived by two daughters: Natalie Telmanik, and Miranda Darmody, both of Atlanta, GA; a granddaughter Mila Jane; and two sisters: Sandra Fink and husband William, of Hopewell, and Susan Schwartz and husband Fred, of Lewisburg. 

Mike was a 1966 graduate of Bedford High School and was active in the athletic programs. He then served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and retired from Kennametal after 40 years.  Mike was a member of the Bedford County Vietnam Veterans Association, Bedford American Legion Post #113, and the Fort Bedford VFW Post #7527.  He was also a founding member of the B&W Gun Club, Bedford Moose Lodge #480, and Bedford Elks Lodge #1707 where he held several officers throughout the years.  Mike was an avid sprint car racing fan and enjoyed going to Port Royal Speedway.  He followed the World of Outlaws circuit, and sprint car driver Logan Wagner.  Mike enjoyed taking trips to get seafood, cooking for his friends, golfing, bowling leagues, and Garden of the Month Club.
