Mary Lou "Louie" (Brown) Bingham

Mary Lou "Louie" Bingham 85 of Bedford, died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Nancy’s Personal Care Home.  She was born on May 3, 1936 in Bedford a daughter of the late Ellis and Mary (Sleaster) Brown.  On October 13, 1958 in Bedford she married Donald “Doc” Bingham who preceded her in death on October 31, 1992.  She is survived by three children: Leah Winegardner and husband Bill, of Schellsburg, Hoby Bingham and wife Bridget, of Reynoldsville, and Janet Boyer and husband Bruce, of Schellsburg; five grandchildren: Madison, Mackenzi, Jeremiah, Benjamin, and Isabelle; a sister Ann McMichael widow of Dennis, of State College, and a brother Robert Brown of Salt Lake City, UT.

Mary Lou graduated from Altoona School of Nursing in 1957 as a Registered Nurse.  She then worked at several locations including Home Nursing, Head Start, and Bedford Memorial Hospital Obstetrics Department, where she retired from in 1998.  Mary Lou was affiliated with the Bedford United Methodist Church, and in the past she volunteered at the Bedford County Library, and enjoyed attending the Bedford Senior Center.  She loved to travel, play cards, golf, shop, and had many long-lasting friendships. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions may be made in Mary Lou’s name to: Bedford Senior Center, 203 S.
