Marietta graduated from Everett High School and was a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church. She had a deep passion and enjoyed working with children. She never knew a stranger and created friends wherever she went. She loved her family whole heartedly and unconditionally and always shared her love openly. Marietta and her mother owned Staily’s Day Care in Everett. She retired from this area and moved to the Outer Banks. She worked at Kitty Hawk Elementary School and coordinated their after school program for the children. She loved to sing and had a great vocal voice. She shared her musical talent by singing in church choirs, community choirs, and barber shop quartets on the Outer Banks. She volunteered with the Visiting Angels that helped care for the elderly and N.E.S.T. program which provided care for endangered turtles. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her “beach bum” friends to Myrtle Beach and Florida where they made great memories. She will be missed by all and is now singing gloriously in heaven’s choir.
