Margaret "Peggy" Weaverling, 82 of Homewood at Spring House Estates in Everett, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on December 27, 1937 in Rainsburg, a daughter of the late Chester D. and Cora (Perdew) Cessna. On October 17, 1959, in Winchester, VA, she married C. Thomas Weaverling who preceded her in death on July 12, 2019. She is survived by three sons: Randall T. Weaverling and wife Christie of Everett; Timothy C. Weaverling and wife Bobbi of Bedford; and Thomas C. Weaverling and wife Michele of Darnestown, MD; two sisters, Mary Emma Van Derlyn widow of Harvey of Brewster, NY; Nancy Ritchey and husband Eric of Carlisle; three brothers, Ronald Cessna widower of Shelvey of Mikado, MI; Richard "Jerry" Cessna and wife Susie of Rainsburg; Thomas Cessna and wife Veronica also of Bedford; three grandchildren: Chase, James, and Maren Weaverling. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Bennie Cessna widow Carol who survives of California, Robert Cessna widow Marjorie who survives of Bedford, James Cessna widow Marlene who survives of Everett, William Cessna widow Ruth who survives of Bedford, and Daniel Cessna widow Anna Louise who also survives of Bedford, and three sisters: Ruth Miller, Jane Cessna, and Nellie Livengood.
Peggy was a member of the Friends Cove United Church of Christ. She worked at the Howard Johnsons Commissary, Hartley Bank, and Susquehanna Bank. Some of her hobbies were spending time with her family, cooking, baking, shopping and working on puzzles.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friends Cove UCC Church with Rev. Dr. William Shrout officiating. Friends will be received an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Friends Cove UCC Cemetery. A luncheon will follow after the graveside service at the church.
