Joseph R. Sellers

Joseph R. Sellers 65, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020.  He was born on April 10, 1955 in Everett, a son of Bernie R. Sellers, of Everett, and the late Donna (Burkett) Sellers.  On November 9, 1974 in Bedford he married Vickie (Way) Sellers who survives along with a son, Jeremy Sellers of Bedford; a brother Jim Sellers and wife Beth of Bedford; mother-in-law Doris Weaverling; a sister-in-law Kitty Ellis and husband William of Hollidaysburg; a brother-in-law Tom Way and wife Hilda of Bedford; two nephews: Kevin and Tommy, and a niece Vanessa.  He was preceded in death by an infant brother Jason Sellers, and a niece Jesse. 

Joe was a 1973 graduate of Bedford High School and was on the wrestling team.  He worked for Standard Register and then spent the next 30 years at Kennametal where he was still employed.  A big part of Joe’s life was being a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.  He was a member of the Church Choir and held several other roles in the church including Trustee, and he helped to maintain the facility.  He enjoyed golfing, metal detecting, music, bowling and had bowled several 300 games.  He loved his cats, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and following music. He was a big follower of the band Southern Raised. Most importantly Joe cherished the time he spent with his wife, son and the rest of his family.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Joe’s name to: Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, P.O.
