John F. Palovchalk, 68 of Bedford, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on June 29, 1949, in Connellsville, a son of the late Andrew and Betty (Testa) Palovchalk. On June 29, 1975, in Connellsville, he married Carol Ann (Queer) Palovchalk who survives along with two sisters: Carol Osniak and husband Rick, of Everson, and Christine Duncan, of Columbia, SC; three nieces: Monica and Cassandra Osniak, both of Everson and Caitlin Patrick, of Uniontown, OH; two nephews, Adam Duncan, of Columbia, SC and Timmy Patrick, of Richmond, VA.
John served in the United State Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a special education teacher for Hyndman and Bedford Area School District. John enjoyed music, movies, traveling, vacationing at the beach, and taking art classes. He was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Bedford Moose Lodge #480.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford with Stanley Howes officiating. Full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard at the funeral home. Friends will be received on Monday from 3:00 p.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
