Janet M. Berggren, 70, of Everett, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 21, 2020 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on March 2, 1949, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late John E. and Eleanor R. (Felicetty) Berggren. She is survived by a daughter Carmen Loniewski and husband Christopher of Elizabeth, NJ; four sisters: Eleanor Denz of Whiting, NJ, Ruth Chiappetta and husband Donald of Holland, Judith Carovillano and husband Michael of Del Ray Beach, FL, Patricia Pearce and husband Louis of Bedford; one brother, Thomas Berggren and wife Sandra of South Park, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother William Albert Berggren and a sister Mary Rose Thornton.
Janet graduated from Clairton High School in 1967, and was affiliated with the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford. She retired from Bristol Meyer Squibb Pharmaceuticals in New Brunswick, NJ. In her younger years she painted and enjoyed doing craft projects. She loved her music especially Earth, Wind and Fire, and was known for being a straight forward person with no gray area. She was also witty and had a very generous heart. Her family was very important to her and she was always checking in on them to see how they were doing.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Richard Tomkosky Celebrant. Burial will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at West Newton Cemetery, in West Newton. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
