Martha Jane McGuire, 65, of Bedford, died on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1954, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Chalmer Foor Jr. and Alice (Fleegle) Short widower Max of New Paris. On September 28, 2019, in Schellsburg at the old log church, she married David E. McGuire who survives along with the following family: a son Richard I. Stiffler and wife Kim of Everett; a daughter, Tonya Shepps and husband David of Bedford; a step-son, Scott McGuire and wife Lisa of Friedens; a step-daughter, Kimberly Blough of Hollsopple; 11 grandchildren: Jared Shepps, Tyler Bernard and husband Michael, Sara Haskins fiancé Nick, Brady, Kylie, and Lydia Stiffler, Morgan, Simon, and Leighton McGuire, Brady and Eryn Blough; and one great granddaughter on the way; three sisters: Nancy Woods widow of Bill of Bedford; Sandy Rouzer and husband Rob of Roaring Spring; Pricilla Haines of Somerset; and one brother, Chalmer "Rusty" Foor and wife Sharon of Everett. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles R. Stiffler.
Jane attended the First Christian Church in Everett. She was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1972, and retired after 27 years with Wal-Mart. She enjoyed her black and white photos, traveling, her faith, and her family.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Matthew Vollbrecht officiating. Burial at Trinity UCC Cemetery, in Friends Cove. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home and on Thursday 1 hour prior to the service.
