Jacqueline J. Koontz 65, of Bedford, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at her residence. She was born September 28, 1955 in Bedford a daughter of Clyde C. and Ruby Romaine (Messersmith) Casteel. On June 9, 1973, she married Brad Koontz, who survives along with a son, Eric Koontz and wife Ashley, of Atlanta, GA; a daughter Amy Koontz and husband Jason Gonzalez, of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren: Maggie and Bradley Koontz, Ella and Ethan Gonzalez; a sister, Cathy Manz and husband Todd, of Lexington, SC; and a sister-in-law, Diane Tegeler, of Bedford.
Jackie was a graduate of Bedford High School, and enjoyed working in Food Services for the Bedford Area School District for 24 years. She also coached the Bedford High School Girls Tennis Team to two championship seasons in 1993 and 1994. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved time with her family, and sending her grandchildren (and their friends) her delicious baked goods when they were away. She enjoyed reading, being outside and had an incredible love for animals. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 4-6 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford. Funeral Services will be private.
