Henry E. Thompson

Henry E. Thompson 75, of Bedford, died Monday, January 30, 2023.  He was born on June 11, 1947 in Warrenton, NC, a son of the late Milton E. and Lois (Spain) Thompson.  He is survived by two children: Lesa Hauk and husband Todd, of Oak Ridge, NC and Travis Thompson, of Bedford; four grandchildren: Jennifer Ottaway and husband Shepard, Jacob, Jillian, and Jeanna Hauk.

Henry served in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Diamond Head.  After his service he moved to Martinsburg, and was employed by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Dept under Max Norris, and retired from Rockland Manufacturing after 33 years.  He enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley Davidson, and organizing Doc’s Run motorcycle ride in memory of Dr. Griffiths.  Henry was always forward thinking towards his family, and loved his children and grandchildren deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Bill Defibaugh officiating.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
