Florence M. (Lewis) Wever

Florence M. Wever 86, of Bedford, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022.  She was born on May 22, 1936 in Washington, D.C. a daughter of the late Catherine (Rhatigan) Lewis.  On April 3, 1956 in Washington, D.C. she married Richard D. Wever who preceded her in death on October 28, 2002.  She is survived by two children: Theresa Scutt and husband Edwin, of Springfield, VA and Richard D. Wever Jr. and wife Maria, of Bealeton, VA; seven grandchildren: Cathryn Comer and husband Michael, James Hanley and wife Meghan, Theresa Marusak, Lee Cummings and wife Laura, Maxwell Wever, Jacob Wever, and Jay Work.  She was preceded in death by two daughters Patricia Work, and Dianne Cummings widower Benjamin surviving of Spencer, WV. 

Flo worked as a secretary for the CIA and enjoyed traveling with her husband’s career assignments around the world.  She was a very kind and loving person, and enjoyed making ceramics. Florence was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Fr. Derek Fairman celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
