Evelyn Joyce Brallier 83, of Centerville, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home. She was born on October 18, 1937 in Hyndman, a daughter of the late Walter T. and Evelyn (Harclerode) Miller. On February 17, 1955 in Hyndman she married Joseph Brallier who preceded her in death on November 19, 2005. She is survived by the following family: a daughter Linda Wertz and husband Rex, of Centerville, a daughter Teresa Hamm, of Bedford, a daughter Pam Readd and husband John, of Cumberland, MD, a son Walter Brallier and wife Brook, of Centerville, a son Danny Brallier and wife Mary, of Tyrone, and a daughter Tammy Calhoun of Centerville; 16 grandchildren: Allen Wertz, Amanda Boden, Melanie, Sarah, Alex, and Derek Ake, Dustin Brallier, Cody and Casey Karns, Michael, Melinda, Katelyn, Candy Jo, Joshua, and Gabriella Brallier, and Trevor Calhoun; 18 great-grandchildren: Courtney, Makenzie, and Tyler Boden, Rachel Neatrour, Olivia and Jacob Wertz, Jayzin and Kaidence Penrod, Kendi Allison, Davin, Joah, and Kai Hughes, Ennsley and Iris Karns, Pierce and Conway Brallier, and Porter Gordon; and she was especially proud that she became a great-great-grandmother to Jackson Matthai; three brothers: Douglas Miller and wife Leanna, Craig Miller, and special brother, Rick Shives; and a brother-in-law, Sam Beegle. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Jo Brallier, a granddaughter, JoAnne Ake, a grandson, Tommy Karns, and a sister, Mary Catherine Beegle.
Joyce spent most of her life as a seamstress, making numerous prom dresses, and wedding gowns for family and friends. She retired from the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown as a CNA where she thoroughly enjoyed working the Alzheimer’s patients. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching all kinds of sports, going to casinos and taking bus trips. Joyce was of the protestant faith and was a member of the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church. One of her greatest accomplishments was reading the entire bible, once as a young girl, and again as an adult. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 12:00 p.m., at the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Ric Van Dine officiating. Burial at Providence Lutheran Cemetery.
