Eunice Blackburn Obituary

Eunice C. Blackburn 99, of Carol Stream, IL died Thursday, December 23, 2021. She was born on February 22, 1922 in Chicago, IL a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Francescon) Carrieri. On November 22, 1952 in Oak Park, IL she married Richard M. Blackburn who preceded her in death on May 11, 2015. She is survived by three sons: Richard J. Blackburn, of Dallas, TX, Joseph Blackburn, of Lombard, IL, and David T. Blackburn, of Libby, MT; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Cora Maltese; and two brothers: Louis and James Carrieri.

Eunice received her RN in 1944, and served in the US Army Nurse Corps in the U.S. and France. She retired from the Army Nurse Corps in 1947. She attended the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church, in Bedford, the Siesta Bay Church, in Ft. Meyers Florida, and the Christian Congregation Church, in Wood Dale, IL, where she served as pianist and organist.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Illinois. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
