Earl Howsare, 90, of Everett, died on April 21, 2022 in Everett. He was born on October 18, 1931 in Rainsburg, a son of the late William Albert and Beatrice (Brant) Howsare. On January 15, 1955 in Cumberland, MD he married Margaret L. “Peggy” Howsare and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2019. He is survived by two children: Cheryl Ann Howsare-Holmes and husband Don of Moundsville, WV and Rev. Wesley Howsare and wife Vicki of Glen Dale, WV; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister Betty Mehaffey of Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Tom, Dewey, William, Harold, Carl and Robert “Whitey” Howsare; six sisters: Melissa McElfesh, Carrie Leasure, Gladys Bozych, Ada Morgan, Nellie Ryan, and Ethel Carbaugh.
Earl attended the First Christian Church in Moundsville, WV. He started out working as a manager for McCrory’s and then became the owner of K&W Hardware store in Moundsville, WV. After retirement, he moved back to his hometown of Bedford and worked part time at Weis Markets. Some of his enjoyments were hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He wrote articles for Mature Living magazine and The Chatterbox, and also co-wrote with his son a song that received regional radio air time called “Grandma’s Apron Strings”.
Service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to Family Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave,
