Eleanor Jean Heming 90, of Bedford, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on July 10, 1931 in Rainsburg a daughter of the late Earl and Cora (Dibert) Hoopengardner. On December 10, 1950 in Bedford she married Richard R. Heming who preceded her in death on December 1, 2016. She is survived by two sons: Richard R. Heming II and wife Bonnie, of Upper Strasburg, and Roger A. Heming and wife Cheryl, of Fishertown; three grandchildren: Bobbi Jo Carmack, Richard Heming III, and Roger Heming Jr.; and six great-grandchildren: Adam, Zoey, and Weston Baum, Brysten Forrester, and Kamryn and Ella Heming. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Hoopengardner, Edna Chaney, Lena Russell, and Anna Stevens.
Jean grew up and was proud of her roots in Rainsburg. She attended the Rainsburg Academy and was a graduate of Bedford High School. Jean enjoyed traveling to Ohio to visit family, going out to eat, and family picnics. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for the holidays, and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Deken George officiating. Burial at St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
