Dorothy L. (Lafferty) Keller

Dorothy L. Keller, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home in Everett.  She was born in Madley Hollow, in Buffalo Mills on November 26, 1930 a daughter of the late Lester and Veda (Miller) Lafferty.  On September 23, 1949 in Cumberland, MD, she married George A. Keller who preceded her in death on January 4, 1995.  She is survived by two children, Edward Keller and wife Ellen (Dull), of New Paris, and Judy Lankey and husband Robert, of Bedford; two grandchildren: Travis Lankey and wife Jessica of Bedford and Megan Keller of Pittsburgh; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Mona Lee Lafferty, and June Keller.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Lankey; a sister, Marcella Dietz; four brothers: Melvin, Joe, Homer, and Fred Lafferty and twin infant brothers: Ed and Edgar Lafferty.

Dorothy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.  She worked in the Bedford High School cafeteria for many years, and then as a waitress at the Holiday Inn Restaurant, which later became the Johnny Appleseed Restaurant.  Dorothy enjoyed gardening and attending auctions.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful loving care that was provided to Dorothy by Stephenie Russell and the staff at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home and the staff from Heartland Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor David Weinhold officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service.  Those in attendance are asked to observe the recommendations pertaining to wearing masks and social distancing as much as possible.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions to the activities fund at Rebecca’s to: Rebecca’s Personal Care Home, 118 Masters Avenue, Everett, PA 15537.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
