Dorothy (Dumpert) Eichler

Dorothy M. Eichler, 84, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 29, 1938 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Louis W. and Margaret (Lilly) Dumpert. On July 29, 1963 in Winchester, VA, she married Richard W. Eichler who preceded her in death on October 5, 2008. She is survived by three daughters: Dianna Eichler of Greenwood Village, CO; Anita Kendall and husband Jeff of Bedford; Charisse Eichler of Aurora, CO; five grandchildren:  Adam, Corey, Race, Alyssa, and Josh; two brothers, Paul Dumpert and wife Myna of Linden Park, NJ, and Patrick Dumpert and wife Shevawn of Bedford; two sisters: Mary Dumpert of Toms River, NJ and Helen Santos of Winchester, VA.   She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Dumpert.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church and worked for Exact Level in Alum Bank and then First Choice in Homecare. Dorothy and her husband owned Eichler’s Transmission Service and Chestnut Ridge Mobile Home Park. Some of her favorite things included reading, sewing, and cooking.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, with Father Richard Tomkosky Celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday from 9 -10 a.m. at the Timothy A.
