Doris Irene (Fike) Walker

Doris Irene Walker 66, of Bedford, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Homewood at Martinsburg.  She was born on April 10, 1957 in Somerset a daughter of the late Paul and Eleanor (Knox) Fike.  On May 9, 1991 in Winchester, VA she married William Ray Walker who preceded her in death on July 20, 1996.  She is survived by five siblings: Sandra Fike, Paulette Fike, Pam Fike, and Alan Fike and wife Brenda, all of Somerset, and Richard Fike and wife Regina, of Etters; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Fike, and a sister Gloria Emerick.

Irene worked a seamstress for Benders Shoe Factory, was a runner for several auctioneers, and later worked as a caregiver privately and at Colonial Courtyard.  The family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers Linda and “T”.
