Daniel G. Pensyl, 84, of Bedford, died on August 5, 2017 at Rebecca's Personal Care Home in Everett. He was born on July 21, 1933, in Bedford, a son of the late Harry R. and Lela G. (Claycomb) Pensyl. On June 8, 1952, in Bedford, he married his wife of 65 years, Sherwyn (Amick) Pensyl who survives along with two daughters:  Martha Plummer and husband Jim, of Ruckersville, VA; Trina Golubosky and husband Lindsey, of Bedford; one son:  Sherman Pensyl of Bedford; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many relatives. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Pamela Pensyl and Danette Thomas; one son, William Pensyl.

Mr. Pensyl graduated from Bedford High School in 1951.  He owned and operated Pensyl Amoco Gas Station for over 30 years.  For 40 years he was a part of the chain gang at the Bedford High School helping mark yardage at the football games.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 480, and the American Legion Post #113. Daniel was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back, and he helped people move from state to state with his uhaul trucks.  He enjoyed traveling the world, his cottage on the Potomac River, eating good food and also spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brady Plummer and Pastor Vicki Cubbage officiating.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the funeral home.  Those wishing can make memorial contributions in Daniel’s name to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 144 West John Street, Bedford, PA 15522.
