Curtis A. O'Brien, 86, of Schellsburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at his son’s residence. He was born on February 10, 1937 in New Baltimore, a son of the late Frank James and Laura Pearl (Frazier) O'Brien. He is survived by three daughters: Linda O'Brien-Dietz of Everett; Connie Way and husband Mark of Manns Choice; Carol Fochtman of Central City; and a son Richard O'Brien and fiancée Brenda Minor of Schellsburg; seven grandchildren: Victor, David, Jose, Eric, Cindy, Melissa, and Stacie; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Marian Miller of Bedford; and a half-sister Leila Trail of Chaneysville. he was preceded in death by two grandsons Troy and Ryan Fochtman; one great-grandchild Gabrielle; and one sister Madaline Rose.
Curtis drove truck and that became his life. He drove truck from Mexico to Canada and from the Mississippi river to Delaware. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Clyde Lasure officiating. Burial at Helixville Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
