Clyde L. Burkett

Clyde L. Burkett 85, of Manns Choice, died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on June 13, 1935 in Queen, a son of the late Floyd and Alice Elmira (Robinson) Burkett.  On July 29, 1957 in Winchester, VA he married Jane (McKnight) Burkett, who survives along with the following family: a daughter, Carol Dodson and husband David, of, Bedford, two sons, Dana Burkett and wife Edna, of Alum Bank, and Chad Burkett and wife Alicia, of Breezewood; seven grandchildren: Breanna, Britney, Elijah, Issiah, Madeline, Emily, and Jacob; a brother Jim Burkett and wife Andie; two sisters: Pat Bollman and husband Ronnie, and Nancy Peifer.  He was preceded in death by a brother Tom Burkett, a sister Barb Grabill, and an infant sister Doris Burkett. 

Clyde served in the US Army, and worked for DCNR at Shawnee State Park as an equipment operator.  He enjoyed going to auctions, hunting, cooking and going out to eat, racing stock cars at Bedford and Everett, and also drove ambulance for Shawnee Valley.
