Cherie M. Mehle 60, of Centerville, died Saturday, October 9, 2021 at home. She was born on December 20, 1960 in Midland, MI, a daughter of the late Maurice and Lucille (Childress) Bovear. On May 21, 1994, in Virginia Beach, VA she married Michael Mehle who survives along with three daughters: Erin M. Winter and husband Jesse, of Clare, MI, Valerie Mehle and fiancé Garrett Santori, of Old Hickory, TN, Stephanie Basso, of San Diego, CA; two sons: Kyle M. Mehle, of Norfolk, VA, and Jacob F. Mehle and wife Lilly, of Bedford; five grandchildren: Trevin, Isaiah, Jayden, Khloe, and Sophie; a brother: Maurice Bovear and wife Tanja, of Sanford, MI; a sister Renee Tomes and husband Dan, of Hope, MI; a sister-in-law Brenda Bovear, of Sandford, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Bruce Bovear; and a sister Wanda Bovear.
Cherie retired after 20 years of service in the US Navy. She then drove school bus for Snyder Bus Lines in the Bedford School District. Cherie was very active with her sons in the 4H and FFA programs, and was the treasurer and a board member of the Bedford Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Mike Adams and Pastor Chris Lyons officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
