Charlotte Perdew Obituary

Charlotte Marie Perdew 92, of Bedford, died on Friday May 29, 2020 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on April 19, 1928, in Cumberland, MD a daughter of the late Orie and Gladys (Wolford) Nelson. On November 15, 1947, in Cumberland, MD, she married Donald E. Perdew and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2004. She is survived by four daughters: Nancy Crawford and husband Paul Jr. of Bedford Valley; Deborah Desmond and husband Thomas of Alamo, CA; Diane Braman and husband Anthony of Bedford; Lisa Fink and husband Steve of Osterburg; 12 grandchildren:  Col. Dr. Paul Crawford III USAF Ret., Jennie Crawford, Daniel Desmond, Thomas Desmond, Darrick Perdew and wife Angela, Brandy Mitchell and husband Bobby, Lon Braman and wife Carrie, Ryan Braman, Amber Harklerode, Sarah Perdew, Noah Duncan and Hannahruth Fink; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by two sons: Donald Perdew Jr. and Ronald Perdew widow Cathy who survives of Forest City, AR; and a half-brother Earl Nelson.

Charlotte was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, and graduated in 1945 from Everett High School. She raised and fostered over 27 children in her home. She played the guitar and performed in various groups in the area.  She also enjoyed history and doing genealogy as well as baking and cooking.
