Charlotte B. Diehl 92 of Everett died Sunday May 7, 2023, at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1930, in Cumberland, MD, a daughter of the late Charles and Sara (Hardy) Barringer. On July 19,1952 in Cumberland, MD she married Harry E. Diehl who survived along with four children: Cheryl D. Costanzo, of Gaithersburg, MD, Brenda J. Diehl, of Frederick, MD, Kendall B. Diehl and wife Rosemary, of Damascus, MD, and Gordon P. Diehl, of Poolesville, MD; four grandchildren: James J. Hance, Matthew J. Hance, Patrick D. Ruffner, and Harry A. Ruffner; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother C. Wilbert Barringer.
Charlotte was a 1952 graduate of Frostburg State Teachers College and taught for over 30 years in Maryland. She has been a member of the United Methodist Church all her life. She sang in the church choir and was very active in church activities. She was a Girl Scout leader proficient in camping and sailing. Charlotte was an active member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and volunteered for over 25 years. Charlotte enjoyed traveling. Her extensive trips included cruises to Alaska, the British Virgin Islands, New England and a Windjammer Cruise in Maine.
