Barbara K. (Holler) Lafferty

Barbara K. Lafferty, 73, of Manns Choice died on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1946, in Everett, a daughter of the late Donald and Mary Ruth (Hillegass) Holler. On October 11, 1969, in New Buena Vista, she married Reuben R. Lafferty who survives along with the following family, a daughter, Shannen K. Yarnall and husband Jerry of Bedford; a son, David R. Lafferty and wife Jennifer, of Buffalo Mills; six grandchildren:  Breanna Barbara-Kay and Brooke Ruby-Kay Yarnall, Tyler, Hannah, Laney, and Thaddeus Lafferty.  She was preceded in death by a son Donnie R. Lafferty, a daughter Ruby K. Lafferty, and a brother Paul Eugene Holler.

Barbara worked at Fairfoot Shoe factory and after that for Ridgetop Orchards but mostly was a homemaker. She was a former member of the United Church of Christ in New Buena Vista before it closed and more recently had attended Colonial Hills Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Schellsburg VFW Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed reading, sewing and shopping. She was a proud republican and her favorite color was purple.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Bob Smith and Pastor Terry Elliott officiating.  Burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 5 - 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
